Marlon Vlogger Recommendations

I’m always reading and buying a lot of products, whether it’s through my own research or recommendations. Whilst I don’t always get time to write full reviews of each and every book and product I buy. I will use this page to recommend my favourite books and products that I can’t live without.

It’s worth checking back from time to time as I will be keeping this page up-to-date with new recommendations.

For transparency, the images and links below are paid links that will take you through to Amazon.  As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases which help support the running of this website.

Camera Gear

Before I run through my main camera items, I have created a list which covers everything you need to get started vlogging with minimalism in mind.

This means not too much kit to carry around or to buy, double bonus. Check out my Minimalist Vlogging setup on the Kit website.

My Main Camera

I currently use the Sony A6500 for most of my videos and photos. I purchased this as it was smaller and lighter than my previous DSLR. It also has some amazing features handy for creating videos such as 4K 24fps for crisp, sharp footage. It also does 1080P 120fps which is perfect for slow motion shots.

Sony Alpha A6500 Compact System Camera (Five Axis InBody Image Stabilisation, 11 fps, 425 Points Hybrid Autofocus, Touchscreen, 24.2 MP APS-C Exmor, 4K Movie) Body Only – Black (Paid link)

My Old Main Camera (2015-2018)

I used to use the Canon 70D which is a great camera, but as a recommendation, I think the upgrades of the Canon 80D make it the better choice. I highly recommend the 18-135 kit lens as a great lens to start with as it is so versatile. That said, if you want to save some money, the 18-55 kit lens is cheaper and still good quality but you lose the zoom power.

My Second Camera

I must say I was blown away by how good the video and photo quality is on this camera. I keep this in my bag at all times.
